Simeon Hospodar

Character · The Circle
A man in his sixties seated at a desk.

Simeon Hospodar is the current Chair of the Inner Council. He has been the head of the Veil — the faction of the institution responsible for what its records describe as concealment and absence — since 1991, when his predecessor died in circumstances that have never been publicly described. The institution does not, by its own account, consider the death an unsolved matter. The institution has not described the matter at all.

He is approximately sixty-eight years old. He has held the Chair, by the best available account, since 2014, having served before that under three different Chairs. He keeps an office in a building that does not appear on any map of the city in which it stands. He has not, by all available evidence, been photographed for the public record in over forty years.

He has been described, in writing recovered by an unauthorized hand, as the head of the table who does not look at the table. This is, in the institution's internal correspondence, a compliment.
